8th Edition of the Arqus Cafés: Call for tutors
Would you like to take part in the 8th edition of the Arqus Café as a language tutor? Arqus is about to start a new round of Arqus Cafés. If you would like to take part in one of the language sessions as a tutor, read on!
The Arqus Café is a virtual meeting place where students and staff from Arqus partner universities can practice their language skills outside of the classroom. It is an excellent opportunity for students to expand their linguistic and cultural knowledge informally with other participants.
We are looking for volunteers who would like to run a language café in their native language.
Your role as a tutor is to support and lead the conversation in your language and encourage participants in their language learning. We will provide you with training, guidelines, topics and strategies for leading the sessions. In many cases, we can assign two tutors per language so that you can work with another tutor and/or take turns leading sessions.
Those interested in sharing their knowledge and helping others to improve their language skills just need to complete this form and apply to be a tutor for the Arqus Café! Please note that the 8th edition of the Arqus Café will start on March 11 and run until June 21, 2024.
The cafés take place once a week for one hour, and selected tutors can also offer a session at a time that fits their schedule.
All languages are welcome and there is a preparation workshop for all tutors. They will also receive a certificate of participation listing their work as a tutor.
