Research Security Webinar
The initiative seeks to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building among partner universities, including through a series of workshops and webinars dedicated to sharing good practices and supporting research management in this field. As part of this effort, the University’s Department for Research and Innovation is organising a webinar on research security to raise awareness of current risks and promote best practices for safeguarding research activities in an evolving global context. The webinar will feature two expert presentations exploring the strategic and practical dimensions of research security, offering insights into emerging challenges and institutional responses.
Target group: This webinar is intended for researchers, administrators, and all those involved in research governance, compliance, and international collaboration.

Y. Beldengrün is a Policy Analyst within the Global Science Forum at the OECD with a broad working experience in the scientific sector (research, diplomacy, policy, communication, activism...). He supports countries to improve their science policies and share in the benefits of international collaboration. His current focus is research security & integrity, and the environmental impact of research.

The University of Toronto approach to the Canadian Research Security Landscape
P. Jarrett leads the University of Toronto’s Research Security Team which provides research and geopolitical security advice to the university’s research community and partners. He is active in global and national community building in research security. Before joining U of T, Paul was a Senior Advisor to the Ontario Government at the Office of the Provincial Security Advisor and worked in Canada’s national security community for over a decade. Paul holds a BA/MA from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MA from the Australian National University.
