Developing new Master's programmes that are future-oriented and can be completed internationally: This is the aim of the Arqus Joint Master's programmes. Now that some successful Master's programmes, such as European Studies, can already be completed over several semesters, new curricula are also being developed. These should be appealing and interesting for students and provide an education that imparts important skills for the future.
The "Translation, Technologies and Artificial Intelligence" Joint Master's programme is also being developed for this reason. The programme entered its final phase in Graz in June. Participants from four Arqus universities, coordinated by the University of Graz, met on 10 and 11 June to finalise the curriculum for the innovative Joint Master.
Joint Master: Shaping the future
The meeting focused on defining the qualification profile and learning objectives as well as discussing the organisational processes of the partnership. This pioneering study programme, which was developed in collaboration between the universities of Graz, Granada, Minho and Vilnius, aims to bridge the gap between academic education and the digitalisation of the translation labour market.
In view of the increasing demand for expertise in the fields of digital tools, machine translation and artificial intelligence, the programme aims to position itself as a trendsetter. The new degree programme aims to close an existing gap between academic education and the digitalisation of the translation labour market. Students who wish to complete the courses of this Master's programme in the future will be able to do so at at least two of the four partner universities.
