This July, it's not just travellers and city lovers who are drawn to Graz. At the beginning of July, a number of students, researchers and industry experts visited the Styrian capital to discuss the possibilities and limits of artificial intelligence.
The reason: the Arqus Summer School on Artificial Intelligence & Digital Transformation took place at the University of Graz from 7 to 13 July 2025. The week was organised on a challenge-based basis and there were 45 participants. These included students, lecturers and industry experts from eight of the nine Arqus universities.
Do it yourself
Throughout the week, students took part in interactive seminars, practical workshops and discussions focused on the transformative impact of AI and digitalisation in various sectors.
The Summer School followed a challenge and problem-orientated learning format that encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the week. The highlight was the last day, when all participants presented their innovative solutions to the real-life challenges they had been working on.
More than satisfied
The Summer School promoted interdisciplinary learning, cross-institutional collaboration and a lively exchange between science and industry. And this was well received. If you ask the participants, you get answers like: "Honestly, this is soooo good!" Or: "It's unbelievable how much you can learn in such a short time!" A successful start to the summer!
