What could the future of Arqus and other university alliances look like? This was the question posed by around 270 participants at the Arqus Annual Conference. The meeting took place at Leipzig University from 2 to 4 April. All nine partner universities sent representatives from a wide range of disciplines to the conference. The University of Graz was also present with 25 participants.
For three days, working group meetings were held to work on problems, ideas and solutions. For three days, researchers, students and employees from all over Europe shared their experiences. For three days, the question and desire for a sustainable Europe with strong university alliances took centre stage.
Expertise and prizes
Experts from other university alliances were also invited to exchange ideas with the Arqus members present in three exciting sessions. The Arqus Teaching Excellence Award was also presented during the conference. Silvia Kober from the Institute of Psychology at the University of Graz was delighted to receive the award this year.
The rectors of the nine Arqus universities also used the meeting to exchange current information on internal and external topics. Discussions centred on European policy as well as proposals for further strengthening Arqus cooperation activities.
Outlook: Arqus Annual Conference 2026
The delegation from Graz can therefore look back on a successful and inspiring week - and is already looking forward to the next Arqus Annual Conference in July 2026 in Maynooth (Ireland).
