Purpose of the Call

This call aims to develop collaborations of excellence, to bring out scientific poles of international level and to develop capacities of research and expertise.

Consequently, the seed funding is made available to support the organisation of consortium meetings and other activities required to support the preparation of competitive joint projects and initiatives.

This call will finance up to ten joint research actions contributing to the establishment of medium or long-term cooperation. It is intended to support the emergence of new initiatives: thus, preliminary work activities intended to apply for another research funding programme will be supported.

The grant awarded will support networking activities focused on the fields of Artificial Intelligence/Digital Transformation and Green Deal/Climate Change to discuss, structure and write application(s) to:

  • Horizon Europe funding programmes
  • Binational funding programmes
  • International funding programmes

Eligibility

All researchers affiliated to the University of Graz from post-doctoral researchers to full professors are eligible.

The research project(s) to be developed must involve participants of at least two Arqus universities (including the applicant’s institution) but may also have participants from universities not belonging to Arqus or from other research institutions or stakeholders.

The activities could consist in the organization of workshop(s) or other activities with Arqus partner(s). Travel and subsistence expenses costs for applicants, as well as workshop(s) organization expenses, could be funded by this call.

The selection of applicants will be based on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the proposal, aims and objectives
  • Joint research interest in the proposed topic
  • In addition, an interdisciplinary approach to Artificial Intelligence/Digital Transformation and Green Deal/Climate Change is desirable

Funding

This grant aims to encourage the development of up to ten joint research action proposals. A maximum of 1000€/person and 2 persons/potential collaborative project will be awarded.

Application procedure

Please email the application form in PDF format to .

To ensure a swift start of this initiative, applications can be submitted immediately and will be processed on an ongoing basis. A response will be given within 3 weeks. Last opportunity to submit an application is 31 October 2023. The activity must be carried out until 30 November 2023.

When the available budget is spent, University of Graz will close the call sooner.
