Working together across national borders to create new opportunities for students. This is one of the main goals that Arqus is constantly working towards. For this reason, a major working meeting was held at the University of Graz at the end of March. The focus was on the further development of the Joint International Master's degree programme in Sustainable Development.
For two days, staff from the University of Graz discussed the programme with representatives from the Arqus partner universities in Leipzig, Minho, Wroclaw and Maynooth. Experts from the universities of Venice, Hiroshima and Basel also took part in the further development of the programme.
Curriculum for a sustainable future
The focus of this meeting was the design of a curriculum. The new curriculum should promote the training of experts in sustainable development and be interdisciplinary in nature. To this end, the broad international and specialist knowledge of the participants was utilised.
The desire behind this: The degree programme should become a hallmark of the Arqus Alliance by offering students a globally informed, culturally rich education in the field of sustainability. The end result should be a comprehensive curriculum that strengthens the commitment to sustainability and excellent educational programmes within Arqus - but also beyond.
