The Arqus ad hoc bottom-up Initiative deals with the integration of refugee students at Arqus universities and emerged from the Arqus Collaboration Project Lab at the University of Padua. In addition to the University of Padua, the initiative brings together five other Arqus partner universities: the University of Leipzig, the University of Graz, Vilnius University and Maynooth University (hosts of SAR Europe); the Mohyla Academy of the National University of Kyiv (associated partner of Arqus); and members of the Scholars At Risk (SAR) network.
Together with all nine partner universities of the Alliance, they are organising a film screening of „Refugee Girls“ from 2023 or „When You Can't Go Back“ from 2019, which deal with the experiences of refugee students at European universities. The film director Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso will be present at the screening together with Dr Elisa Gamba. Before the film screening, there will be a short introduction to the topic, followed by a discussion with the audience. The event will include a presentation by each host university on their ongoing local activities to integrate refugee students.
