Arqus is pleased to announce this year's winner of the Arqus Green Mobility Days Award. This award recognises outstanding commitment to sustainability through innovative concepts for green mobility.
Giada Abategiovanni, a student at the University of Padua, won the award for her project "Green Mobility Week". In second place was the "University Sustainability Shelves/Shop" project from the University of Graz; in third place was the "Bicycle Repair Stations" idea from the University of Leipzig.
Forward-looking ideas
In this second edition of the award, 9 proposals were submitted and the selection was made by 7 jury members from 7 different Arqus universities. The selection committee evaluated each proposal under six aspects:
- innovative approach
- Adaptability to different contexts
- Network and impact at local level
- Target groups involved and inclusion
- relevance to the objectives of the Arqus Green Mobility Days and to international mobility
- Feasibility and replicability
The winning project will take the form of a week-long sustainability hackathon where students will participate in workshops, expert-led talks and hands-on activities.
Each day will focus on a specific topic:
- cycling and micromobility
- sustainable public transport
- Carpooling and shared mobility
- green travelling
- green technology for mobility
Congratulations!
Giada Abategiovanni's aim is that this initiative is not just about learning, but also about action: to create a collaborative space for education, innovation and behavioural change.
The winner of the award will now receive 1000 euros in the form of Interrail tickets. An award ceremony will take place at the University of Padua in autumn.
