Accent Matters: Multilingualism at the heart of Arqus’ Europe Day celebrations!

On 9th May, European countries celebrate peace and unity throughout the continent. The date marks the anniversary of the historic “Schuman Declaration”, considered the beginning of the European Union.

Europe treasures a wide diversity of languages, and Arqus is proud to promote multilingualism as a bridge that connects societies people and cultures within the Alliance.

To celebrate this anniversary, representatives of the different Arqus universities have recorded a fun video under the motto ‘Accent Matters’ to share the variety of languages within the Alliance and to promote linguistic and cultural diversity as a value that unites us.

The promotion of multilingualism and interculturalism is a key lever for European integration and identity. So on the occasion of this day, there will also be a special edition of the Arqus Café, the Arqus online foreign language speaking programme launched in 2020 that is currently running its 6th edition.

Besides, today the next session of the Arqus International Colloquium on Romance Literature and Culture, is organised by AIFRS, the multilingual interdisciplinary network for research and teaching on Romance languages within the Arqus Alliance.
